Pokemon Go news: New EX Raids, June Community Day update, Shiny Ho Oh release

New Ex Raids invites are being sent to trainers today, according to the latest chatter online.

The new wave of Mewtwo battles have been confirmed by players on Reddit, confirming that they will have the next chance at beating the powerful psychic type.

The new Pokemon Go Raids will be going live on May 28-29, which is apparently the thirteenth weekly EX Raid Pass distribution that’s happened in a row.

This would suggest that Niantic have now settled on a formula for the event, which has struggled to solidify a set programme.

It’s still unclear what is the best strategy to get invited to an EX Raid, which are still technically in the beta testing phase.

For those who have been invited this month, it will give Trainers a chance to catch Mewtwo, while also providing plenty of time to prepare for the battle.

Following the end of this month’s Community Day, players are now looking toward the next big event.

And lucky for them, we already have the very first details on what to expect from the Niantic celebrations.

The Pokemon Go June Community Day is being held on Saturday, June 16.

The event will likely include the usual combination of bonuses centered around the three-hour window.

Three-hour lures will also be available, although we don’t know which Pokemon will be subject of the Community Day celebrations.

May saw Charmander chosen as the main picks, so fans will be hoping that the likes of Squirtle will be chosen next.

Luckily for fans, Niantic have gotten into the habit of announcing what the next Community Day Pokemon will be, usually just days after the last one.

That means we could know more details by Tuesday, May 22.

It follows news that Niantic have release a new Raid bonus that will prove intriguing for players over the next few weeks.

Completely out of the blue, fans have been told that Ho Oh will be returning to the Gym roster, starting May 19.

As many Trainers will already know, the Legendary bird has already been released by Niantic in the past, so it’s not a new Pokemon to add to your Pokedex.

However, Ho Oh is known to be a solid choice for those who do a lot of Raids, and will be available to battle until early June.

“A powerful Fire- and Flying-type Pokémon originally discovered in the Johto region, the Rainbow Pokémon Ho-Oh will appear in Gyms across the globe alongside Latias and Latios, which will remain in their designated regions,” Niantic confirm.

“Plus, if you’re fortunate, you might be able to encounter a Shiny Ho-Oh after you win the battle!

“You can challenge Ho-Oh until June 7 and seize the opportunity to add this Legendary Pokémon to your Pokédex.

“So, gather your strongest party to take on Ho-Oh before it returns to the skies!”

As mentioned above, Shiny Ho Ohs will be available to catch later today, joining Charmander as part of the big Community Day events.
