Meghan Markle latest: Andrea McLean forced to apologise amid Russell Brand admission

Russell Brand appeared on Loose Women for a chat but conversation steered toward the upcoming wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

However, the 42-year-old found himself in trouble when he kept swearing during the interview where he also confessed he’d kissed Meghan years ago.

Subsequently, anchor host Andrea had to issue an apology.

As Russell joked with Janet Street-Porter, he exclaimed: “Oi, you’ve got some b****y nerve, you.”

Andrea intervened to tell Russell to refrain from repeating the expletive after an instruction from someone behind-the-scenes.

“I’ve been told in my ear that you have to stop saying that word,” the 48-year-old admitted.

“Which one?” he questioned.

Andrea explained: “The ‘b’ word, like bleeding but in the present.”

Russell then took the opportunity to apologise to those at home for himself.

He declared: “My apologies to anyone offended by my language, I apologise for that.

“Because it’s such a natural, normal environment I don’t check my language.”

The actor then went to tell the panel how he had kissed Meghan as part of a film role, although he still couldn’t refrain from swearing in the process.

After being asked if it was true, he divulged: “As a matter of fact it is. But let me say, before you get carried away with it – there’s a wedding on Saturday, focus!

“She was in a film that I was in. Get Him to the Greek, it was a b****y good film.

“Meghan Markle, didn’t know at the time because she wasn’t married to a royal person, I don’t remember the film that much, I think I planted one on her in the scene.

“It was scripted in the scene. I only know this because I think I saw a clip of it somewhere.

“Meghan Markle, there we go.

“They should bring that up [at the wedding]… if anyone has any reason… yeah Russell Brand snogged her in the film!”

Andrea once again had to apologise for the language when the show returned from an advert break before moving on to the next segment.

Loose Women airs weekdays at 12.30pm on ITV.
