Fortnite Battle Royale getting BIG new item for PS4, Xbox One, PC and Mobile

Fortnite Battle Royale fans will soon have a new update to download that will contain a very special item.

Dataminers have now found evidence that Epic Games will be releasing the delayed Jet Pack at the end of this month.

While the people who found the new evidence can’t pin down exactly when the new item will go live, they have a pretty good idea.

According to those who have delved into the game files, a new Week 5 Challenge is being cooked up that will require the use of the Jet Pack.

By grabbing the new item, players will be able to earn five Battle Stars toward their Season 4 Battle Pass.

And the only way they will be able to do that is through actually having one to hand.

According to dataminers, the description for a new LTM called ‘Close Encounters’ includes details on how it will run.

“Close quarters combat with Shotguns & Jetpacks! If you find a jetpack, double-tap the jump button to take off,” the description reportedly reads.

“Keep the button held down to apply thrust. Make sure to land before it runs out of fuel!”

It should be noted that this news is based on things found in the Fortnite code and not from Epic Games directly.

There’s the chance that this new mode could be pushed back weeks, or may never actually be activated.

But being tied to an existing Challenges seems to suggest it could go live before the end of May, or at least during Season 4.

Week 5 Challenges will probably go live on Tuesday, May 28, so fans should watch the Epic Games Twitter channel for further hints.

It follows news that Epic Games have released an exclusive new theme for Fortnite players on PlayStation.

“The official Fortnite SHAREfactory theme is now available on PS4!” reads an Epic tweet.

“Get started by visiting the PlayStation Store from your PS4. Find the Fortnite SHAREfactory Theme under SHAREfactory in the Apps section of the store.”

The new Sharefactory theme features one intro, one outro, a new title clip, nine different backgrounds, three transitions, 12 stickers and six fonts.

Fans can pick up the content by visiting the online PlayStation shop, where the theme is free of charge.

The only drawback is that the theme can only be used with the Sharefactory app, and not on the PS4 home screen.
